Ardhnarishwar means the God who is half woman, it is a form of Lord Shiva which symbolizes the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti. Ardhnarishwar is as half Lord Shiva and half Goddess Shakti. Right half is Lord Shiva and the left half is Goddess Shakti, which means Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti are one. There can be no Lord Shiva without Goddess Shakti and also no Goddess Shakti without Lord Shiva.
